Post 16 Dress Code

In Post 16 it is essential that all students present themselves in a business-like manner.  This is to prepare our students for the world of work.

Please find below the dress code when you are a Post 16 student:

Blazer: Smart, formal office style. A fine knit jumper with a round, v or roll neck may be worn under the jacket but not instead of.

Tops: Blouse or shirt with sleeves to be worn under the jacket. No logos, narrow straps or low necklines. Sweatshirts and polo shirts are not appropriate.

Skirts/Dresses: Must be knee-length when standing. No body-con, jersey, denim, corduroy, leather, leather effect skirts/dresses, as these are not formal business wear. Dark coloured opaque tights must also be worn.

Trousers: Formal office style and not clingy/stretchy fabric. No denim or corduroy.

Shoes: These should be appropriate business wear. No canvas material or trainers.

Outdoor coats: Coats must be removed inside school.

Jewellery: Plain, simple and discreet jewellery is allowed. Within the context of a smart business environment students should not have obvious body piercings.

Hair and make-up: Hair and make-up should be appropriate for a professional business environment. No extreme hair colours or cuts/styles are allowed.

Tattoos: Tattoos should not be visible.

ID Badges: All Sixth Form students are required to wear an ID badge. This is important for identification and safeguarding purposes. The badge must be clearly visible at all times.

If students do not follow the Academy Post 16 Uniform Policy, we reserve the right to send students home to change and return to the Academy once in appropriate business wear.
