The Diana Award

The Diana Award believe that young people have the power to change the world; with being the only charity in the United Kingdom that is set up in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales and her beliefs that young people have the power to change the world.

The Diana Award offer three main programmes, which here at Grace Academy Darlaston we are slowly welcoming: The Award, Peer Mentoring and Anti-Bullying.

Anti-Bullying Programme

Supported by HRH the Duke of Cambridge, The Diana Award Anti-Bullying Campaign engages young people, parents, and teachers to change the attitudes, behaviour, and culture of Bullying by building skills and confidence to address different situations, both online and offline.

Peer-Mentoring Programme

The Diana Award Peer Mentoring Programme pairs volunteer mentors from the world of work with Students to give them an insight into the world of work and career skills training, these are sessions which are delivered weekly for over a three-month period – this programme also allows us to Train Post-16 Students to become “My Mentors” which enable them to become Peer Mentors in the Academy.

The Award

An award established in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, The Diana Award is the most prestigious accolade a young person 9-25 years can receive for their social action or humanitarian work. Those who earn this award usually don’t work for the award but display and demonstrate their suitability through their actions, without any expectation of award. Nominations for this award are made by an adult in a professional capacity i.e your teacher.

Grace Academy Darlaston will always update Parents and Careers over Facebook for when new Programmes are welcomed to Grace. We are hoping that by the start of September 2021 we will be ready to begin our Peer-Mentoring Programme which will run along side the Anti-Bullying Committee.
