Today we have had the privilege of welcoming John Prockter to Grace Academy Darlaston to deliver Hikaru workshops to both our year seven pupils and pupils from some of our local primary schools.
John is a Youth Worker and a very vibrant author who lives and works in the West Midlands. He has enthusiastically taught the pupils all about allegorical storytelling, storyboarding and character development as he opened up the world of Hikaru. Hikaru is the title of John’s latest young-reader novel.
As well as reading extracts from one of the stories in the Hikaru trilogy, John spent time talking about how he became an author and how he decided on the characters for his books.
As one of the sessions ended, one of our primary students said, “Thank you so much for today. This has been the best trip ever!”
