During June and July, six students took part in a six-week short course in barbering with local employer KEM Unisex Salon. Most had never cut hair before, but by the end of the course they were able to do this task with ease while learning and developing barbering techniques with Kem.
Students from Year 7, 8 and 9 were treated to an introduction to crime scene investigation on 19th of June. The Think Forensic team came to the academy and delivered 50-minute sessions to students on how a crime scene investigator searches for evidence. Exciting news! After half term, the SEN department will be running two new and exciting clubs to take us through the summer term.
